  Everything! But most of all, the direct mentality of the Now Yorkers and the freethinking arts scene.

  B&H (photography and film), Fatllama.com (renting equipment from private owners)
5. What you should definitely bring with you from home:
  Binoculars, the view is awesome!
6. Concerning art at this destination:

7. Around the studio – where I shop, drink my coffee and get the best lunch deal in walking distance:
  Supermarkets: Westside Market, Trader Joe’s; Lunch: Westville Chelsea, Beyond Sushi (vegan)
8. Where I like to spend the evening (dinner, drinks and best sound):
  Dinner in the Lower East Side and then a live drag show.
9. What would have been useful to know before coming here and starting my residency:
  That there is a key for the sundeck next to the laundry room.
